"After the unfortunate incident, Melly realized that humanity is no different from the nature of insects; loyalty only exists when one has value."
Overview[edit | edit source]
The Entomologist is a containment-type Survivor. Her ability allows her to place down honey on pallets and windows, allowing teammates and herself to vault faster.
She can place down her bee swarm with her net, which can be used to push players and slow down Hunters. The bees' pushing speed is faster than a regular Survivor's walking speed, and can be used to push the Entomologist to another cipher faster. It can also be used to aid kiting Survivors, either by pushing the Hunter away or by boosting the Survivor kiting.
The bees also slow down the Hunter's movement speed by 70% when the Hunter passes through them. The Hunter can attack the bees with two hits, which both lack a cooldown, for them to disperse.
Background[edit | edit source]
Melly has always been an object of interest in the world of biology, partly because of her talent, from a poor housemaid on a Farm to a rising star in biology.
The story doesn't always have listeners, not to mention that in insect research, it also has extremely unique ideas, especially regarding winged insects. She seems to have the ability to control these flying creatures and can understand their every move. While more and more rumors were spreading about her appearance, Melly rarely appeared in public. Compared to the craving for learning, it seems to have been more dependent on wandering through dense forests, swamps, and deserts. There she could find strange insects.
She appeared several times in public in heavy headdresses that covered her entire face. Someone said it was only because she was ugly and didn't want to look at people with her true face. Someone said that it was only because she was very beautiful and afraid that people would focus all their attention on her appearance rather than on her research.[1
External Traits[edit | edit source]
|Entomology||The entomologist carries a net that can assemble a swarm of insects in front of her.|
The swarm will form a barrier so that the Hunters passing through it will be disrupted and their Movement Speed will be reduced by 70%. Survivors won't be affected. At the same time, the barrier can block certain abilities.
|Mixed Reagent||A special reagent created from a mixture of extracts from various insects. It can lubricate Pallets and Windows when vaulting to increase Survivor's Vaulting Speed by 10%.|
|Fragrance||Her location is shown for an additional 2 seconds upon leaving a Hunter's line of sight as her body's fragrance lingers.|

Tips[edit | edit source]
- Throw down her bees on stairs or near corners where there are pallets/windows. It can slow down the hunter while kiting.
- When decoding, place bees in front of you to avoid terror shocks.
- Use the bee to support friends if necessary.
- Use the bees to give extra time to ballooned survivors.
- Looping is the best strategy for her, find buildings like the shack at the sacred heart hospital and loop around, your mixed reagent will make vaulting faster.
- When you are near an open escape door, you can stand in the corner where the hunter cannot directly see you, and send in your bees to help and remaining survivors.
- Her bees can be used as a substitute for broken pallets while looping an area.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The name "Melly" means bee, honey, and brave strength.
- The bees she maneuver around are a subclass of winged insects, the Pterygota specifically.
